On Friday, 20 November 2020 our office is supporting White Ribbon Day and participating in the Walk for Respectful Relationships. Having a large family law practice serving Sydney and the NSW South Coast for 50 years we are well aware of the impact on society that domestic violence has and the need to address this through both education and support.

We are always here to offer strength, support and guidance, to assist in access justice and to direct those in need to the many local services available. We have a wealth of strong and experienced female lawyers in all our areas of practice including four of our 7 directors, Rebecca Flynn (Property), Amanda Doring (Family), Lisa O’Leary (Family and Estate) and Anika Fleet (Commercial).

WMD Law and Amanda Doring have been donating their time to Orana Women’s Health Information Centre for many years to assist women in need. We also support Sutherland Shire Family Services who help people affected by family violence through support groups and a variety of other programs as well as providing financial donations to assist the ongoing provision of these services. If you would like to support Sutherland Shire Family Services you may make a donation here.

What Can You Do?

You can also take the time to discuss what White Ribbon Day means with your children, in an age appropriate way. We can all continue to ensure that for the next generation we role model appropriate respectful relationships with women and ensure all young children understand what is acceptable and what is unacceptable behaviour. Together we can make a difference.

If you, or someone you know needs support with respect to a family matter involving domestic violence please contact us on 9525 8688 so that we can help and introduce other organisations who can assist.
